Jelly Sandals to piss off Trad Goths

What do I do when it´s almost February? Shop for Summer shoes of course! Cause Summer is obviously around the corner...

I figured that jelly sandals would fit me well since I don´t wear sandals and always wear socks. It would be nice to show off some interesting sock patterns. I bought mine at Boohoo.com.

They turned out to be very comfortable and just like I expected - completely ridiculous looking. The only down side of them it that they tend to damp from the inside when you wear socks, as noticeable on the photo above. I tried them without socks and it was fine. Guess I´ll have to wear white socks then. But for their price I don´t mind I guess.

Recent finds and Summer shoes!

I´ve been on a small shopping spree because Spring! The initial impulse was to find summer shoes, specifically to try on a pair of nice sandals I saw at Deichmann.

Now, I haven´t worn sandals since a few years now. Mainly because I hate how my feet get dirty after waking, but also because I´m paranoid that something would happen and my toes will get cut off or broken... talk about sanity...
Mostly I just like how sneakers or combats look with my outfits, and sandals always associate with childhood to me.

I´ve laid my eyes on this pair of shoes:

I don´t have a lot of money (especially after visiting Sweden... scheiße...) so I am absolutely ok with buying cheapy shoes that might not last too long. Yet after trying those sandals I´ve realized how horribly made they were, they´ve weighted nothing which should probably tell you how crappy they are. And then I realized how I disliked sandals in the first place, phobia etc etc and began to search for different shoes.

Surprisingly, and this is obviously far more satisfying than searching for something specific, I´ve found some cool ballerinas that instantly reminded me of the ballerina shoes old school goths wore in the batcave days!

I normally don´t like ballerinas, because of their rounded form it makes the leg shorter and the whole appearance less interesting, but those pointed ones actually give a more elegant look, and turned out to be very comfortable and very narrow, as most ballerina shoes tend to be too wide for my feet. They are velvet-ish and have no buckles like in the picture above, but I still loved the so much and the price was welcoming, only 20 euros!

I´ve also stumbled upon a Buddha statue at an "we have everything" store. I just love those kinds of stores, I am a big lover of collecting small useless junk to make the room prettier.

I´ve been wanting a Buddha statue for a while, it makes me happy just to look at him and I love Indian God statues in general, regardless of their meaning!

 Finally, Boris and I went for a walk in the town yesterday to enjoy the beautiful Spring days. We had such a great time, and I´ve walked with a t-shirt on the street for the first time this year! That means Spring is officially here for me. Just walking the streets of Berlin makes me feel so free I prefer a walk instead of a party sometimes...
We spontaneously visited a esoteric shop at Kreuzberg, where among other beautiful things they sell second hand books.
I found 2 (or should I say, they found me!). One is the Mists Of Avalon translated to German. The last time I´ve read a book was... well, I´ve probably red more university related stuff than books, which were no fun at all. But I was happy to find The Mists Of Avalon, since I´ve been craving for a good fantasy book (I don´t like fantasy much and am mostly skeptical about it, but TMOA was something my Wicca teacher has recommended me a long time ago). The German level of the book is not as complicated as scientific, and I´m already captivated by the main character. I am just so happy to read something spiritual in German!

The second book is actually a Tarot guide, and oh how I´ve been searching for an extremely detailed book about tarot ever since buying my deck! I know how some people like to interpret the cards for themselves without looking at manuals, but this is something that I´ve felt like researching thoroughly, and this book has great detailing on the various symbolism in single cards, including the cards´ general meaning. I am so satisfied with this book! I haven´t given it a good read yet, but Boris was very happy using it as well.

Cross Accessories Collection + New Shoes!

Finally had time to take pictures of all my cross necklaces and earrings put together.

A couple of these crosses were shown in "The Symbols That I Wear" post.
All of the crosses are not silver, and each has costed me less than 2 euros.

This is the latest add to the collection, a really awesome cross that I accidentally found at a mall in a store called Null Karrat, a sort of very expensive do it yourself jewelry store. The cross however was only 1 euro. It has a really cool acrylic eye in the middle. Looks really crazy!
Also, the 2 earrings above it are new as well. They were sold as a pair and I actually have 2 of these, because I've wanted small cross earrings to put in my third ear piercing and ended buying 2. The long one I haven't wore yet.

Fun fact: I would have never wore nor own so many crosses back in Israel. Because you see, everything in Israel is super religion related, Jewish religion related in particular. Among the very few Christians in Israel (which belong almost entirely to various ethnic minorities) it is very odd for someone who is not Christian, and especially a young man/ teenager, to wear crosses. That's why all the cross trend wasn't so popular there, at least as I remember a year ago (!) before leaving. That's why the only cross accessory I wore in Israel was my cross earring which I've made (laying to the right of the eye-cross in the big picture).
I'm very pleased that I can find endless, and most importantly- cheap crosses here in Germany.

Purchased these today, also found by accident. I wasn't even going to buy shoes until I saw these.
I actually brought almost exact shoes with me from Israel, but they didn't survive the winter and were too cold to wear. I really hope these would serve me well, because it's the exact kind of shoes I was missing!!!

First Real Combat Boots

It has been time since I've shared this with you. About a month ago I've bought new boots, as in- real combat boots.

Finding no previous pics of former combat boots, I shall lay down the story for you:
I've had 2 pairs of boots in my life, both fakes of the real thing [the ones that have lacing but a zipper as well]. The first pair my mother bought me when I was like 16, I've been nagging her to go buy shoes with me, but had no idea which kind I've wanted. We've browsed the shopping mall until my eyes [kilometers away from the target, yes?] landed on a pair of combat boots standing in one of my favorite Israeli shoe shops, Gazith [very recommended for alternative people who don't have much money]. They were absolutely perfect and I wore them everywhere. They've lasted me for almost 3 years, which is rare for shoes from that company.
The second pair were from another Israeli brand called Spring. If any of you Israeli readers out there planning to purchase shoes from that company, hold your horses. They weren't too cheap but looked cool, yet another fake combats. The shoes were such a fail they've disappointing me since the first Israeli winter [aka, absence of the winter season]. Not only did the rain made them wet from the inside, I had to have the repaired almost a month after purchasing. Obviously enough, they didn't survive the cruel snowy winter in Berlin. Thus making me rid of them forever this summer.

Farewell boots. You haven't served me well at all. I only kept the shoe laces. 

With that being said, I had to find good winter boots before it really got cold/ rainy. And so I went with Boris to one of Berlin's flea markets, recalling a friend telling us one could find combats there for a reasonable price [I don't have the option to order them online].

How did the flea market look like, and how come one can find kick ass boots for like 35 euro, second hand but in amazing condition, you say? Well, the only logic explanation would be, that this is Berlin baby.
At one point I thought I've reached Valhalla.

It was insane. So many awesome shoes, piled up [but being kept well] on a small stand. We saw combats [uk made!] in various sizes and lengths, ever real wincklepikers size 43!! I begged Boris to try them, but he wisely held himself back hence he wasn't going to buy shoes.

I've picked the combats which looked least worn, they only have a small scratch on the front of the right shoe. After giving them a polish one can't notice that. They are size 39, exactly what I need, and are surprisingly heavy. I am still excited each time I wear them!

 They are real leather unfortunately, but at least they are second hand...
Also they are hard, which means it is difficult to go down the stairs [foot doesn't bend]. But overall they are perfect, they look amazing, they are super comfortable and make me feel very feminine! Imagine that....

Discovered this Russian hardcore punk band yesterday. Great music with very wise lyrics and zero use of cursing words! I still am stoked about it, great band!

Shoooooz + gothy shoe advice!

I realized I haven't shared this yet.
So last month I bought 2 pairs of shoes, because I was excited and greedy to have more shoes, there are absolutely no excuses to why I am obsessed with shoes so much, I just need to have more and more of them, and wear every pair so rarely that I would complain on how they still blister my feet after so much time had passed.
Logic is a quality I seldom lack...
However, this time [thank god] it was different.
I managed to find surprisingly enough some very special shoes.

First off were the creepers!

I was so happy to find these! They were 20 Euro at a completely normal shop called Deichman. I was so damn happy to find creepers without having the trouble of ordering them online! Funny that I had to buy size 38 which for me is crazy because I wear 39-40, but the other sizes were to big. They are really comfortable, yet I haven't had a chance to wear them a lot because it's still too cold, and only one layer of socks fit in them, just like with my wincklepickers.

The next pair of shoes were Deichman as well, and they were Buffallo like shoes!

I've been wanting a pair of Buffallos for a long time hence my love to Nu Goth and all those Japanese fashion pics on Tumblr. These amazing shoes were for 20 Euro as well, and I was so excited to find Buffallo fakes so quickly!!! It really made me happy, also because I've been wearing them none-stop because they are perfect for snow and fir multiple layers of socks! They also make every outfit look a bit different, a slight change from old school goth. They also look cyber-ish in some outfits which is nice. I really had much fun combining these with different looks. Should I post pictures of those outfits? I probably should...

Anywho,

There is something very pleasant in finding cheap fakes of shoes you were drooling on having for a long time. I used to find so many gothy shoes this way, in completely normal stores, and for a very low price. I think that it is even better to actually buy "gothic brand" shoes [or clothes, for that matter] because then you make these shoes your own, and I had lots of times people asking me where do I buy my shoes [or clothes lol], as if my shoes looked different from anybody else's.

That's why my message to you would be to search for "fakes" if you really want to get a certain shoe but the original is too expensive. It really has a nice feeling to it, because then you find an original piece, you make it your own, it's cheap enough to customize and it makes the shoe feel more personal ;)

Outfit of the night + Winklepickers!

On saturday we went to a New Wave party with friends.
I have an outfit picture for you, including the amazing Winklepickers I found for 5 euro at a flea market.
I was so excited to find such beautiful shoes. They are surprisingly comfortable, and frankly I love the way they look even more than those Winklepickers they cell at Demonia.
These shoes are made in Italy, unfortunately made of leather, but at least it's leather i'm recycling... lol great excuse...
Unfortunately I only wore them for the photos, because it's too cold to walk with them yet.
I can only wear one layer of sock with them, and well, the past month I'm wearing 3 layers...
And no, you can't run in them ;)

A very exciting thing is happening lately:

I think I finally have the experience of hanging out with friends. It is something I only rarely had in life, because usually I had only 1 friend except Boris, with whom we had not so much in common [mostly]. I never really had the "hanging out nights" with a group of people with I shared a lot of things...

And the past few days I actually found this kind of people, and after hanging out with them, I realize it is far better than going to some party, which will probably won't be the last goth party I'll go to, but to have such a great evening laughing, drinking and eating with people I express so much feelings to, that's really rare and special.

This makes me really happy. I think this is something I've been wanting to do all my life, it makes me feel like a part of something unique and personal.

My first Demonias

Thursday Boris' gift for my birthday has finally arrived in the mail!!

I've been wanting Demonia shoes for so many years, but never had the money or reason to buy them. I always thought that I could save the day when I'll get a pair.

But Boris' birthday in May set a start to our tradition giving each other shoes [well, we did it only once maybe it'll continue]. And they say giving shoes to each other as a gift is a bad thing :D

I bought Boris these babies:

He wanted high heels for some time inspired by 70's bands and Tom Waits [who wore red stilletoes in one of his video clips]. Boris wears those on very special occasions, having sometimes trouble stabling himself but he likes them very much ^^

I was so excited when I opened that box...

I was nervous that the size wouldn't fit, but it was PERFECT!!

I rocked them out at a party yesterday, and it was great! The platfors are so comfortable, and the shoes didn't blister my feet at all! The only difficult part was that the material is a bit hard and it's difficult to bend the ankle, but all in all it was great! It makes me so tall, best feeling ever. And adds so much to the outfit.

I am so happy I got my first Demonia shoes thanks to my darling [and his parents apparently! How sweet of them]. It was the best present ever, I thanked my love a thousand times.

Next up is to get those beautifully desired winter clothes out of the closet and start dressing like a human being at last.

I hope to get the pics of yesterdays Halloween party soon, it was loads of fun.

My New Jeffrey Campbell Shoes

Are fake and gay, or should I say- false and homosexual.

I was drooling over those shoes for a while now after seeing them in loads of Nu Goth picture the world so hates and I humbly so adore.

And then a friend has told me they have these exact same as Campbell's only at an outlet store of an Israeli brand!!!!! They look exactly the same. Nothing smells better than a cheep fake example of a fancy designed item.

I bought them for really cheap, they are sooo comfortable, believe me, says a girl who detests high heels.

I actually want to walk on heels but the reason I am not doing so is;

- I walk very fast and for very long all the time, and heels delete those options for me.

- Heels always make my legs callus no matter for how long I wear them.

- I tend to be too tall and I like my combats instead anyway.

But this time it was different. Might I add these shoes look like some mutation of Demonia + combat boots? Me like.

Hoping to rock them out at the EBM party this friday!
